Spike Jonze’s Kanye West Film Is Leaked

The New York Times  talks about a video by Spike Jonze featuring rapper Kanye West. The video which is a short film that is depicting Mr. West's life. It is a song that is in his recent album "808s & Heartbreaks". The video is meant to depict themes in Mr. West's life in times of loss (of his late mother, Donda) and isolation.

The sources that are used in this story include an interview with the director, Mr. Jonze and the actually video itself as it is mentioned and referred to a couple of times within the story itself. The author also uses a marketing mogul to give the reader some sort of background about sales with videos/short films like this being in iTunes for sale.

The angle of this story is to inform the reader/public about this. What it did for me was something I hadn't thought about before. After Mr. West's outburst on MTV' s awards, I thought that that event was somehow staged and it was some sort of publicity stunt for something else. The article proved my suspicions to be somewhat true. This New York Times  reported this short film was posted on Mr. West's Blog just a little after the outburst on MTV .

I don't know if this might have been a publicity stunt for people to buy this short film or something else, but this report sort of connecting that for me. So it was taking the angle of reporting this and sort of connecting the two together for me.

The reporter did a great job in crating something more than a listing because he described a lot about the film, he gave substantial background on exactly what the story behind the story was. He talked to the director and got his point of view. It was sort of a story rather than a listing of what is happening with this video/short film that is about to come out on Tuesday.

Overall, this upcoming video has people already raving over it and anticipating for it to come out.
